The Letterkenny Music and Drama Group present Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons. The play is a poignant look at relationships amid global upheaval. Bernadette and Oliver’s relationship is brought under strain when draconian ‘hush laws’ are introduced, limiting people to only 140 words per day. When you consider the average human speaks 123,000,000 words in a lifetime, this constraint certainly hits home, and forces one to consider what words are important, and what words are simply ‘lemons’. The couple must navigate this new ‘world order’, adapting to a new social norm that has the potential to divide society even further into the haves and the have nots. By following Oliver and Bernadette, Lemons asks a very serious question – how much can the human spirit truly endure when freedom becomes a distant memory?
