Acting Classes with Sean Donegan
Local professional actor, Sean Donegan will be running a seven-week series of master-classes in acting technique.
The hope is to create an actors studio at An Grianán, where actors can meet regularly to develop their skills and eventually to produce and act in shows at the theatre.
A mix of backgrounds and skills are welcome as the classes will be run in such a way that they will be suitable for beginners but will also give more experienced actors an opportunity to practice their craft outside of the pressures of a full theatre production.
All that is required is a focused desire to learn more about acting.
Topics covered will include:
•Preparing the body and voice for performance
•Building a character
•Improvisation
•Working in an ensemble
•Working with text
•Stanislavski/Meisner
•Techniques for acting Shakespeare
There is a FREE taster session on Tuesday 17th January 2012 from 6:30pm – 9pm at An Grianán Theatre, Port Road, Letterkenny.
The classes will then run every Tuesday for six-weeks at €5 per class. Contact An Grianán on 074 912077 for more information.
