Founded in 2005, An Grianán Youth Theatre aims to offer young people opportunities for both creative and personal development through drama and performance techniques. It is also an ideal stepping stone for those wishing to go on to study Theatre and Performing Arts at third level.
With an emphasis on performance, participants are offered an insight in to many aspects of professional theatre production.
Past projects have included a film-making project with Declan Birney, public performances of one-act plays and most recently La Vida de Picasso, a play which was researched, devised and performed by youth theatre members with the assistance of director Rachael Devir.
An Grianán Youth Theatre is affiliated to the National Association for Youth Drama.
