You can judge a Music Competition by what it does for the winner…. Well, Last Year's winner of 'Live and Kicking' Rainy Boy Sleep got himself a manager, an agent, a spot at this year's Glastonbury Festival and a tour with Cyndi Lauper, all directly from being spotted in the final of Live and Kicking 2010! There isn't another competition in the country that can boast that.
Now we can't promise you that this year but we can promise that you'll be on the very same stage as he was, with the very same opportunity to impress ….
We are offering 10 music acts the chance to compete at An Grianan Theatre in front of a live audience. The winner will have the opportunity to professionally record an original composition.
We are looking for bands and solo artistes from all musical genres including trad, rock, folk, jazz, rap, indie, electro, etc.
The Selection Process
An Grianan invites acts to forward a short artistic CV and sample CD/MP3s. Your entry must include at least one original composition by the artist/ band and should be clearly identified as such on your accompanying song list.
Submissions must be received by An Grianan Theatre by 13th August. You can email your submissions to:

All 10 Selected acts will be asked to perform at one of two heats, on the 20th & 26th August. Each selected band will receive 30 complimentary tickets for the heat they take part in. Each band will be asked to perform a 20 minute set which must incorporate at least one original composition.
The judges will select two bands at each of the heats who will perform in the final on 27th August.
