We've lined up three very different dramas, one in January, one in February and one in March for the all in special price of €30.
The first play is a delightful one woman show called Austen's Women. A big hit at last year's Edinburgh Festival, Austen's Women looks at some of Jane Austen's best know literary heroines, from the meddling matchmaker Emma Woodhouse to the proud and headstrung Elizabeth Bennett. "frilly, flowing and flamboyant in all the right places" (The Stage).
The second show is an out of this world sci-fi spoof from the team who brought us the brilliant Western spoof Spittoon at the Earagail Arts Festival a few years back. 2010: A SPACE ODDITY takes us into the world of science fiction, cult movies, and spoof - it's every space movie you've ever seen in an hour and a bit!
The final part of our special drama package comes from Bruiser Theatre Company with Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. It is an alarming and savagely hilarious allegory of Hitler's rise to power, in which the Fuhrer is portrayed as charismatic Chicago gangster Arturo Ui, endeavouring to seize the city's fruit and vegetable racket from top-dog Al Capone. He systematically seduces the public and eliminates his political rivals in his bid for total domination. When credits crunch, to whom do we turn? Arturo Ui offers protection and freedom - at a very large price.
