"Keegan Theatre's Fool for Love is a pure celebration of playwright Sam Shepard’s bumptious theatricality" WASHINGTON POST

Featuring Kevin Adams, Larissa Gallagher, Mark A. Rhea, and K. J. Thorarinsson

Directed by Colin Smith

Fool for Love

A critical and popular success, this masterfully constructed work brings searing intensity and rare theatrical excitement to its probing, yet sharply humorous study of love, hate and the dying mythos of the American West.

In a stark, low-rent motel room on the edge of the Mojave Desert, Eddie and May love and hate their way through life. Unable to hold on or let go, they battle to keep from drowning together.

This Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright’s masterpiece shows the heights and depths that love can take us to, and make fools of us all.

Keegan Theatre is based in Washington DC where since 1996 it has presented both classic and new Irish plays to American audiences. It has won numerous awards and recognitions, including 13 Helen Hayes nominations, the Mary Goldwater Award (the Theatre Lobby), and the Star Award for Managerial Excellence (Arlington Commission for the Arts). For its annual tour to Ireland, the company presents a classic from American theatre.
