We're delighted to be taking part in National Culture Night once again.
Culture Night originally began in Dublin's Templebar in 2006. Since then it has grown to take in 20 towns, cities and counties across the country. It's the one night of the year when arts providers from all disciplines throw open their doors to welcome the public with a night of free events. That's right - free!
Our Culture Night Events
Backstage Tour 7pm
Our culture night programme opens with a Backstage Theatre Tour by Niall Cranney, our Technical Manager.
Mikey Connors' Barreltop 7pm to 8pm
This traditional horsed-drawn Travellers’ Barreltop Caravan will be on display at the Theatre plaza
Play Readings by An Grianán Theatre Club 7.30pm to 9pm
In keeping with its commitment to being ‘ a centre of artistic excellence at the heart of the community’, An Grianán offers a taste of the best of Donegal drama with a literary programme featuring work by Donegal writers including excepts of Faith Healer and Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel and Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness by company of top local actors including Kieran Kelly, Jean Curran, Sean McCormack, Paul Rooney, John McGinley and Nora Kavanagh. The presentation will also include a series of monologues by members of Letterkenny Youth Theatre.
Fox ‘n’ Crew Hip Hop Dance Company 9.00 – 9.30pm
This autumn, Letterkenny’s award-winning, hugely creative hip hop dance company, Fox ‘n’ Crew, made it all the way to the World Hip Hop Championships in Germany. Enjoy the big beats, the brilliant dancing and the stunning choreography that have made this group of young dancers one of the most admired ensembles in the country.
