Jack L, aka Jack Lukeman returns to An Grianán Theatre this November hot on the heels on a No 1 album in the Irish charts. Released on Oct 16, The Story So Far is an essential collection of his career so far including a few bonus tracks.

Jack L

A native of Athy, Co Kildare, Jack L, as his army of devoted fans will testify is one of the most powerful live performers out there. Although he loathes the comparisons, his spellbinding performances recall a blend of Sinatra, Jacques Brel, Scott Walker and Nick Cave. Jack's recent ventures have included a summer concert with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra in New York where he performed songs from his last album Burn On, his cover album of Randy Newman songs, to a background of fireworks.

Jack has also recently inspired a novel, or rather his fans have! Best selling author Anna McPartlin has recently released "So What If I'm Broken". Based on the fictional lives of Jack's fans, each chapter takes its title from a Jack L song.

Jack's first breakthrough came with his band The Black Romantics playing the songs of Jacques Brel. Their debut album Metropolis Blue was released in 1999 and quickly established Jack as one of the charismatic stage performers in Ireland today.

Following the success of his first album, Jack went solo and developed his own unique sound, blending dark cabaret, rock & roll, ethereal balladry, and occasional post-punk flourishes.
