Star of BBC’s ‘Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive’ & ‘Rich Hall’s Fishing Show’ the Edinburgh fringe favourite and Perrier Award winner returns with his alter- ego the redneck, jailbird character Otis Lee Crenshaw
Rich will perform in his usual style as the grouchy, deadpan comic genius and Otis will be let out of jail for the 2nd half of the show.
NB: Over 18s only. Contains strong language/content.
Renowned for his quick wit and droll delivery, Rich began his comedy career back in the 80s, with a recurring role on legendary TV show Saturday Night Live, among other things. He also appeared regularly on chat shows like the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, for which he won two Emmy awards.
What many people don't know about Rich is that he was the inspiration for Moe the Bartender on The Simpsons. Rich explains: “I suspected that Moe was based on me because I used to write with George Meyer back when he was one of the original writers on the show. Matt Groening was a fan of my stuff. Other people said: ‘You look and sound just like Moe.' Then Matt confirmed it.”
And how does it feel to be depicted as a bad tempered bar man with suicidal tendencies? “It's an honour, once you get over the shock of seeing yourself as a horrible, yellow caricature.”
Appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe saw his comedy career take off in a big way in the UK culminating in hes Perrier Award in 2000 for Otis Lee Crenshaw. His quick wit and laconic delivery have seen him become a regular panelist on shows such as QI, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 out of 10 Cats and Have I Got News for You.
"A craftsman completely at ease - one of the UK's favourite US comedians" The Scotsman
"Stand up for grown-ups that is as thought-provoking as it is rib-pokingly funny" Metro
"Exudes a sense of bewilderment to which audiences instantly warm - expect the unexpected" The Independent

Rich Hall's Sniglets!
In the 1980s Rich invented the word 'sniglet', described as “any word that doesn’t appear in the dictionary, but should”. First appearing in a segment on an US TV show, Rich later compiled several books of sniglets including Angry Young Sniglets and When Sniglets Ruled the World.
Examples of sniglets:
Execuglide: The act of using your wheeled office chair to move from one place to another.
Furnidents: The indentations left in carpet after moving heavy furniture.
Toastaphobia: The fear of sticking a fork in a toaster even when it's unplugged.
Cheedle: The orange residue left on fingers after eating Cheetos or some other cheesy snack
Aquadextrous: Possessing the ability to turn the bathtub tap on and off with your toes.
