Jimeoin on Ice
Tickets: €20/€17.50
One of Northern Ireland’s most famous ex-pats Jimeoin makes his debut appearance at An Grianán Theatre this September as part of his first all-Ireland tour in more than 10 years. Since leaving his hometown of Portstewart and settling down in Australia over a decade ago, Jimeoin’s disarmingly relaxed, cheeky and sometimes surreal sense of humour has seen him become one of the very top-rated comedians in his adopted homeland.
'It gets no better than this... Brilliant... He's not trying to preach to you, he won't change your life, but he will make you laugh a lot...Hilarious!' TIME OUT, LONDON
Easily one of the most accessible acts around there’s nothing in his routine that you won’t be able to relate to. His set revolves around charming observations on the little absurdities of everyday life, from washing machine cycles to doing the Hokey Cokey, all imbued with a childlike enthusiasm as well as an easy and warm rapport with his audiences. Jimeoin on Ice is a show that has no politics, no message and is just about having a good laugh, an evening of unadulterated premium rate, world class comedy.
'Classic nonsense... Stand-up comedy at its best, using gentle humour to poke fun at life's absurdities while hitting some real nerves.' THE SCOTSMAN

His superstar status down under has meant that Irish appearances have been few and far between and home audiences have missed out on enjoying the talents of one of our very best stand-ups. Thankfully he’s back (albeit briefly) on the Irish circuit and also on BBC2 with a 6-part comedy series, Jimeoin Down Under, currently airing on Friday nights at 10pm.
Internationally, Jimeoin has toured from New Zealand to Europe and the U.K., the Middle East, the Far East and Canada’s Montreal Festival. He’s a regular at the Edinburgh Festival where, in 1994, he was awarded the highly acclaimed “Critics Award”. In Australia his regular appearances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and his widely successful Australian tours attract sell-out advance bookings.
