The exciting Fluxusdance Company, from Kildare, will hold a residency in Letterkenny from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th, hosting a series of workshops and classes which will all lead up to the final public performance on the Thursday evening.
Taking their original cues from a number of different sources such as Plato, Leonardo da Vinci, Isadora Duncan, Rudolf Laban and even Micheal O' Muircheartaigh, they work with the space and ideas from the workshops to create a piece they call 'The Divine Normal', a reference to dance pioneer Martha Graham.
The final performance is a collaboration between the dancers, choreographer Cathy O' Kennedy, sculptor Seamus Dunbar and filmmaker Jana Riedel and it will be unique to An Grianan Theatre. The soundtrack will include Mozart, Bach, John Spillane and Louis de Paor. The company members are skilled in the area of disability arts practices.
