Community Outreach Worker

JOB DESCRIPTION
General Statement of Responsibilities

Responsible directly to the Director the main responsibilities of this post will be to coordinate and develop the range of youth activities undertaken by the theatre.

Specific Duties
Coordinate the projects for young people at An Grianán including dealing with schools, facilitators and members of the public.

Liase closely with workshop facilitators and the FAS Supervisor to ensure that all members of staff are informed about the programme of events.

To coordinate all information/data required on youth participants in line with the theatre’s Child Protection Policy.

Liase with visiting artists and companies to arrange special events and incentives for young people such as workshops, talks, and master classes.

Liase with external organisations such as National Association of Youth Drama to ensure that the theatre maximises opportunities for participation for all its Youth theatre members.

To coordinate the needs of in house youth projects such as summer workshops, drama showcases and youth theatre productions.

Working as part of the marketing team to continue and develop ongoing audience development projects.

Liaise with external organisations such as the Arts Council to source funding or other supports for the theatre’s programme of activities.

Carry out any other duty, which reasonably falls within the general range of responsibilities

Eligibility Criteria for Participants

The criteria for participating on the Community Employment programme are based on age and length of time in receipt of various social welfare payments. In general, this opportunity is for people of 25 or over who are receiving social welfare payments for 1 year or more, and people of 18 years or over in receipt of disability-related payments.

Please note that eligibility to participate on the Community Employment programme is linked to those in receipt of an Irish social welfare payment (where specified). Those persons not meeting the criteria under the Part-time Integration or Part-time Job Options, or who are signing for credits, or are receiving social welfare benefits from a different country, are not eligible to participate on Community Employment.
