Long Day’s Journey Into Night
A second opportunity to see Letterkenny Music and Drama Group’s 2017 festival play Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night.
The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play was first performed in 1956, and is regarded by many to be one of the greatest plays in American Theatre. A semi-autobiographical account of O’Neill’s own upbringing, it tells the story of the damaged and tormented Tyrone family over a long hot summer’s day in Connecticut in 1912. Currently being performed on Broadway with Gabriel Byrne and Jessica Lange in the lead roles, over the years it has been performed by actors as diverse as Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Laurence Olivier, Jeremy Irons, Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Dennehy, Laurie Metcalf and Philip Seymour Hoffman to name but a few.
Cast: Geraldine Galligan, Anthony Delap, Martin Hasson, Joseph Gallagher and Elaine Gillespie.
Director: Kieran Kelly
