Border Crossings Summer School
Border Crossings Summer School is a new initiative funded by Peace III and administered by An Grianán Theatre Letterkenny in partnership with The Alley Theatre Strabane. This two week summer school running from 24th July – 7th August 2010 boasts Concerts, Masterclasses and Workshops reflecting the Scottish and Irish traditions of music, dance and storytelling.
How You Can Get Involved!!
AUDITION to take part in the Performance or Masterclass programme. Auditions take place on the Wed 14 July at the Alley Theatre Strabane and Thurs 15 July at An Grianán Theatre Letterkenny. Registration forms can by filled out at both venues or you can download one here.
The one day Masterclass Programme offers expert tuition in music or dance from Matt McGranaghan and Georgina Kee costing €10/£8 including lunch and two complimentary tickets to a Gala Concert.
The Performance Programme offers five days exploring dance or music from both traditions and devising a 30 minute performance to be showcased at both Gala Concerts costing €40/£35 including lunch and four complimentary tickets to a Gala Concert. Selection for each programme will be made at auditions by Kintra members Matt McGranaghan & Georgina Kee.
BRING YOUR GROUP for workshops in “Music from Nothing” or “Storytelling and the Dance”. No experience necessary for these fun filled classes. The workshops are geared towards community groups of any variety and can be brought to your centre or provided at An Grianán Theatre. Available dates are 25th –29th July 2010.

COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF how exhilarating and memorable this fusion of cultures is at one of Kintra’s four gala concerts on Sat 24 July and Sun 1 and Fri 6 August at An Grianán, Letterkenny) and Sat 7 August at the Alley Theatre, Strabane.
This is an exciting new venture encouraging a coming together of communities and a celebration of our future.

The Border Crossings Summer School takes place in An Grianán, Letterkenny and The Alley in Strabane.
At the heart of Border Crossings Summer School are Kintra, a collective of artistes and musicians widely recognised for their unique fusion of Scottish and Irish folk traditions. Kintra will perform in four gala concerts throughout the summer school with guests from both Scotland and Ireland.
